What is Onda?

Onda uses 2.45GHz microwaves to heat fat and surrounding tissue for localized fat and firmness. Surface cooling accompanies treatment; scope and intensity follow fat amount and skin thickness.

Onda may be considered when concentrated fat and laxity coexist. We assess submental/jawline concerns on the face and localized fat, cellulite and laxity in body areas such as abdomen/thighs.

Who may be suitable?

  • When sagging blurs the jawline or creates a double-chin appearance
  • Localized fat remaining despite weight loss
  • When you want to address firmness and fat together
  • Body cellulite/firmness with dedicated body tips

What to check before treatment

  • If fascial structure causes sagging: Consider other options such as Ultherapy PRIME.
  • If chewing muscles (masseters) widen the lower face: Consider botulinum toxin too.
  • Pregnancy/breastfeeding, implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers, local metal implants, acute inflammation/infection

How does it work?

Microwaves cause molecular vibration and heat in tissue. Heat acts on fat cells and connective tissue to induce volume reduction and remodeling, while stimulating dermal collagen for firmness.

Handpiece cooling keeps the epidermis cool, designed to reduce surface heat burden while heating deeper tissue. Repeated sessions address gradual, cumulative fat/tissue changes.

When do results appear, and how long do they last?

  • Immediately afterward: Heat and mild redness.
  • 2–4 weeks: As swelling settles, contour changes begin.
  • 1–2 months: Changes become more apparent with repeated sessions.
  • Around 6 months: Maintained, varying with weight and lifestyle.

How is the treatment performed?

  1. Consultation: Distinguish fat, sagging or muscle as the main cause, then set area and sessions.
  2. Preparation: Apply oil, then move the handpiece across the area. Anesthesia is usually unnecessary.
  3. Treatment: Moving warmth, lasting a few minutes to about 30 minutes depending on area/scope.
  4. Finishing: Soothing before leaving. Daily activities can resume the same day.

Recovery & Precautions

  • Redness and heat usually settle within hours.
  • Avoid saunas, strenuous exercise and alcohol on the day.

Contact the clinic if this occurs

  • If blisters, weeping or burn marks appear
  • If firm nodules persist in the treated area
  • If redness or pain worsens over several days

How we proceed at WayB

  • We use separate facial and dedicated body tipsbecause area and depth requirements differ.
  • If muscle widens the lower face, we recommend considering toxin rather than Onda. Distinguishing the cause comes first.
  • We adjust area order and intensity under the Comfort Standard.
